Why Your Addrop Video Doesn't Show the Actual Product (and How to Fix It)

Why Zendrop catalog product images sometimes produce poor Addrop video results, and how to get better-looking videos by using the right source image.

Addrop uses your product image to generate video ads, so the source image plays a big role in how the final video looks. Most Zendrop products come with clean, high-quality images that work great with Addrop straight away. If your video isn't showing the product clearly, it's usually down to the type of image the AI had to work with and it's an easy fix.

Why the product might not appear clearly

Addrop's AI performs best with a clean, single-product image. In some cases, a product's default image may be:

  • A box or packaging shot: the AI sees the container, not the individual product.

  • A multi-unit or gift set photo: harder for the AI to isolate a single product.

  • An infographic: the AI needs a photo of the product, not a graphic.

In these cases, the AI fills in the blanks as best it can. Swapping in a cleaner image gets you a much sharper result.

The quickest fix: select a product with a single image or upload your own

When creating your video, you have two options. Either select a product from your Import List or store that has a clean, single-product image, or upload your own photo. Here's what makes an ideal source image:

  • A single product unit, not a box or bundle.

For example, if your product is sold in a box, the AI only sees the container, not the individual item inside. For the best result, upload an image of a single product on its own. If you want multiple units shown, a photo of the products laid out together outside the box works well too.

  • Clean background, white or light grey works best.

  • No text overlays, graphics, or infographic elements.

  • Good lighting with the product filling most of the frame.

How to upload a different image

  1. Go to Addrop and select Create Video.

  2. When prompted to select your product, look for the option to upload a product image manually.

  3. Upload a clean, single-product photo from your own files.

  4. Complete the rest of your video setup and generate as normal.

🎬 Good video example

Zendrop's catalog has great images for most products. If a specific product's default image isn't ideal for video generation, uploading your own takes just a few seconds and makes a big difference.

Still need a better product image?

If you don't have a suitable image on hand, here are a few easy options:

  • Order a sample and photograph the product yourself. This is the most reliable way to get a clean shot that matches your brand.

  • Use Addrop's Create Image tool to generate a high-quality product visual first, then use that as your source image for the video.

  • Reach out to Zendrop support, share the product link and let us know what you need (e.g., single unit). We'll help you get sorted.

Getting help from Zendrop support

We're happy to help track down the right image for your product:

  1. Find your Zendrop product link.

  2. Contact Zendrop support through the support widget in your account and share the link.

  3. Specify the type of image you're looking for, single unit.

  4. Once received, upload that image when creating your Addrop video.

Our team will always do their best to source what you need. If supplier options are limited, ordering a sample gives you full control over your product photos.

Quick reference: image types and results

Image type

Expected result

Single product unit, clean background

Best results, product appears clearly in the video.

Box or packaging shot

AI guesses what's inside, results vary.

Infographic or label image

Poor results, the model has nothing visual to work with.

A sharp source image is all Addrop needs to produce a high-converting video ad. Most products are ready to go, and when they're not, you're just a quick image swap away from a great result.
